Passport

To enter Argentina, your passport must be valid for the entire duration of your planned stay and contain at least one blank page for immigration stamps.
The document must be in good condition (no damaged, torn, or altered pages).

Tourist stay without a visa

Nationals of the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and Canada benefit from visa exemption for tourist stays in Argentina.

This exemption allows for a stay of up to 90 days from the date of entry into the country. An extension of an additional 90 days can generally be requested on site at the Argentine National Immigration Authority.

Authorities may also request:

  • an exit ticket from the country (return flight or onward travel),

  • proof of sufficient financial resources for the duration of your stay,

  • an accommodation address in Argentine territory.

Health and vaccinations

No vaccination is mandatory to enter Argentina from Europe or Canada. However, certain vaccinations are recommended depending on the regions you visit:

  • the yellow fever vaccine is recommended for travelers heading to the tropical zones in the north of the country (Misiones, Formosa, Chaco, and Jujuy provinces);

  • updating routine vaccinations (diphtheria, tetanus, poliomyelitis, measles) is advised.

It is recommended to consult a doctor or an international vaccination center before departure.

Traveling with children

Minors must hold their own valid passport covering the duration of the stay.

When a minor travels without one or both parents, a notarized parental authorization may be required by Argentine authorities at entry or exit. It is strongly advised to check beforehand with the competent Argentine consulate.

Entry conditions may vary depending on nationality. Travelers concerned should contact the Embassy or Consulate of Argentina in their country of residence.
