Start with a cultural visit to Ayutthaya, the former capital of the Kingdom of Siam, before boarding the Death Railway in Kanchanaburi. Experience nature as you discover elephants and the waterfalls of Erawan National Park.
Next, head to Amphawa and its still-authentic floating market, where you can experience the daily life of the Thai people. This journey concludes with a visit to the City of Angels: Bangkok.
Perfect for a short getaway ...
Welcome by our team at the airport, followed by transfer to Ayutthaya, the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Siam, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Check-in at the hotel for some rest.
After breakfast, we set off to explore the historic center of the city by tuk-tuk, visiting the Wat Mahathat, dating back to the late 14th century.
We then continue to the Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, which once served as a royal temple and is therefore the largest in the city, and the Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon, where we can admire the reclining Buddha.

Overnight stay at the Iudia on the River
This morning, we head to the Kanchanaburi region and its natural surroundings along the Kwai River.
We arrive at the train station and board the famous "Death Railway" around 10:40, made famous by the film "The Bridge on the River Kwai," for approximately 2 hours of travel westward to the Sai Yok region, located 70 km west at the end of the railway line.
We stop at Namtok, its terminus, after the dizzying passage along the cliffside at Tham Khrasae.
After lunch, we spend the afternoon at "Elephant Haven." On-site, we can purchase fruit baskets (not included – about 3 euros per basket), a treat for the elephants. In the early afternoon, we enjoy a special moment: bathing with the elephants!
We return to Kanchanaburi in the late afternoon.
Please remember to bring swimwear and a change of clothes from the morning for those who will be bathing with the elephants in the afternoon. Put on your clothes, as there will likely not be a very convenient changing room on-site.
Settle in for 2 nights on half board at River Kwai Jungle Rafts, a floating raft on the river surrounded by the jungle of Sai Yok National Park.
Breakfast: Iudia on the River
Lunch: Elephant Haven
Dinner: River Kwai Jungle Rafts
Accommodation: River Kwai Jungle Rafts
Departure in the morning for the Erawan National Park and waterfalls, where we will discover magnificent waterfalls extending over 7 levels and turquoise water. (Note: From the 3rd level onward, the terrain is very slippery). Swimming is possible.
Return in the afternoon to our floating bungalows on the River Kwai.
After lunch, we stop at Hellfire Pass, a long 4 km trench of the Death Railway cut into a huge rock mass to allow the train to pass. The work carried out by prisoners of Japanese soldiers is said to have cost the lives of more than 100,000 forced laborers and other prisoners of war. Visit the associated museum and an emotional walk along the commemorative trail.
Plan to spend at least 2 to 3 hours on site.
Return to Kanchanaburi in the late afternoon.

Overnight at the Baan Amphawa Resort
This morning, we head to the small floating market of Tah Kah, full of vibrant colors and aromas. A true immersion into Thai local life.
Then, an excursion to a local palm sugar industry.
A local curiosity, the Mae Klong Railway Market, where four times a day, fruit and vegetable stalls are quickly folded away as the train passes through the market.
Next, we set off to discover life in the mangroves. By boat, we explore this fragile ecosystem. During our excursion, we learn about the fishermen's way of life (here, cockle fishing is done from a surfboard) and visit a shellfish farm.
Lunch with local specialties.
Nightfall, boat trip on the canal. Our boatman picks us up from the quayside, and we set off on a mini-excursion in search of fireflies that illuminate the waters.
Tonight, we head to the docks to taste the local flavors of the floating market, which takes place on weekend evenings. Along the canals, many locals come to dine. Like them, we order our dishes directly from each boat: stir-fried noodles, skewers of shrimp or squid, or why not some pre-cut mangoes.

We leave Amphawa early to head to Bangkok, the City of Angels, which we will visit today.
From the city center, we walk to Wat Pho, one of the oldest temples in Bangkok, to admire its reclining Buddha.
We then cross the river by a small boat to visit Wat Arun, the "Temple of Dawn," located on the right bank.
Private traditional long-tail boat taxi ride on the Chao Phraya River, one of the most important rivers in the country. Discover the Venice of the East and the traditional life of the city's inhabitants, half of whom still live by the water.
Visit to the Yaowarat and Talat Noi Chinatown district; the Temple of the Golden Buddha - Wat Traimitr, and the small but very interesting Yaowarat Chinatown Heritage Museum, which traces the history of Chinese immigration to Bangkok.
