Elephant Bathing Kodanad (KERALA)

Have you ever thought of giving a bath to an elephant? Elephant bathing is one of the most enthralling activities in Kerala at Kodanad Elephant Sanctuary which is 42 kms from Kochi. Elephants are indispensible element of Indian mythology and culture. In Kerala elephants are often called as the sons of the 'Sahya' (the Western Ghats). Elephants are most worshiped in god’s own country as no festival or celebration is complete without the holy procession of these animals. There is an event which happens every year in Kerala where the ornated beautiful elephants draped in colourful silken parasols march throughout the event. You will get a chance to indulge in many thrilling activities in the Sanctuary like elephant bath, elephant safari, elephant feeding and watching baby elephants. The Kodanad Elephant training centre, recently shifted to Abhayaranyam at Kaprikkad (which is about 3 km from Kodanad) situated on the Southern banks of the Periyar River is surrounded by beautiful high ranges near Perumbavoor and it is one of the biggest elephant training centres in Kerala.
