Botanical Garden

It was established in 1848, by the Marquis of Tweeddale. The garden is situated on the lower slopes of Dodabetta peak and it spreads over an area of 22 acres. It is enriched with a beautiful artificially created pond and it has 2000 different species of trees, fashioned beds laid beds out in an Italian style, beautiful flowers including orchids, a fossil tree trunk of 20 million years alpines and medicinal plants among beautiful lawns and glass houses.

Third week of May every year, annual flower show is being held here. The rose garden 750m from Charing Cross contains over 1,500 varieties of roses. It is open from 0800 to 1800. Ideal time to visit is September to October and from April to May of the year.
